Associate BrokerJoan is not only a native of the area, but also the daughter of real estate agent parents. In fact, 3 of 4 children in the family are licensed Realtors® and her son is a real estate appraiser. She can honestly say that real estate is in her blood!
Licensed as a real estate sales agent in 1979, Joan also acquired a broker´s license in 1983. She has worked with several real estate companies during her career and was owner/broker of a company for six years. During this time she was also active in the local Board of Realtors® and in the Georgia Association of Realtors®. She served as President of the Brunswick-Glynn County Board of Realtors® in 1989 and was awarded Realtor® of the Year in 1984 and 1988. She was Chairman of the GAR Political Affairs Committee in 1988-89 and served on the Board of Governors for the GRI program from 1986-1992. She is a Life member of the Million Dollar Club, now known as the Circle of Excellence and qualified for the Oglethorpe Award in 1999. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of the Golden Isles Association of Realtors®. She also serves on the Board of Directors of three Home Owner Associations on St. Simons Island.
Joan is dedicated to the profession and works hard to ensure that the process of buying or selling real estate is easy for her clients. Her knowledge of the area as well as the 35 years of real estate experience provides her with a high level of expertise in anticipating and solving problems.
She credits her father with setting the example for not only going beyond what is expected, but also operating with honesty and integrity in all situations.
Joan has two grown children, Lisa who lives in Atlanta, GA and Dusty, who resides on St. Simons with his wife Lynn and children Chance and Caroline. Her hobbies include sailing, fishing and crocheting.
